Hi, I have seen this and I asked one of our other techs and he said 'its a cos option' but nothing more than that. I will see what more info I can get from him. For reference the second line of the display shows #<ext number>

As far as I know the extension number will only display on the 5312 sets as they have no toggle keys. If you set the phone as a hot desk device in the COS it will display the extension

tried that and it works fine, probably going to be handy for some of our customers. But does anyone know of a way to get rid of the time and date from the display.
we have a number of extensions that are in different timezones so would like to rmove it and replace with either extension number or nothing at all.

does anyone know of a way to get rid of the time and date from the display. (http://does anyone know of a way to get rid of the time and date from the display.)

Here's a trick:
In the old days this used to byte us in the butt.
In the (trying to remember the exact form here) Multiline set status message form find a blank line and put something in there that would make sense but still be 'pointless' such as the company name.  or a " " space (not sure if you can do spaces any more) or even a '.'.    Then you can step to the phone a activate the new status message.   Then the phone won't show the date/time.   Down side is that when any one calls the phone it will show the status message too.

I think time zones will be a Rel 5.0 item.

Mine Neither - My 1st language is Hillbilly.   ;D

I went to my office and tried this out.
The form in the 3300 is "Multiline Advisory Messages".  You can find it under "View Alphabetically" drop down box.
Find a blank line and edit the member.
Spaces in the line won't work so I put a '.' there.
Once you save it then you can go to a phone and hit the blue super key.
Say 'no' until you see "Advisory Messages" and say yes.
Then hit the "Next" button until you see the '.' then hit the "TurnOn" button.

Thats it.
