Title: Mitel Music on Hold
Post by: vorlander on March 23, 2011, 12:42:33 PM
Hi to all.

I have added a 2nd 3300 in a cluster of 2.

I have the problem with MOH, i need to transfer the MOH from the primary to secondary.

There is a way to download MOH file from a 3300 and transfer it to the second one?

Thank you

I don't know the exact folder path, but you'll need to retrieve your current MOH via ftp from your original controller.

I think it's /db/emoh

Be sure you have the "/" pointing the right direction.

/db is a hidden folder I believe. So if you're trying to see it before browsing it, you won't be able to.

Are you using an ftp client or the one built into Windows? In either case you should be able to specify the directory that you want to enter and that should allow you to get access to /db/emoh

To be honest I'm not 100 percent if you could just load it into the same directory of another controller. The reason is..... How would the ESM referance the new file. I do recall some audio process command that can be run from the shell to change the file back to a wav file. I will have a look and get back to you.

MitelUK2010,
That would be very interesting to know.  I'd owe you a beer.  (Canadian  :) )

I get a request to move music files over every once in a while.  For some reason no one can seem to remember where they saved the original file.

BTW: Since we're on the subject of Mitel MOH. I also get request for just beep tones.   Something I think Mitel should have included a long time ago.   Since my kid is going to collage for audio production I had him create one, then put together a website to give it away.    You can pick it up here: Mitel Beep Tone (http://www.mitelforums.com/articles/3300/mitel-beep-tone-moh.php)

Sorry to dredge up an old thread, but I'd also be interested to hear about how to do this. I've managed to get the file from the controller via ftp but have had no luck in converting it back to WAV or playing it on anything.

Once you have the file, open it up in audacity as a type "raw"

Thanks, ralph.

Incidentally, using your method I am able to pull RADs and voicemail messages from the system and listen to them the same way. Aren't these supposed to be encrypted?

Didn't think so but then I've never given it any thought.
I suppose I only thought that transport should be encrypted.

So did anyone ever figure out if we can just pull the file off another and ftp it to another controller ?  I was able to pull the file off but when you import it via Audacity , it plays really really fast and adjusting the temp doesn't do anything.

You need to adjust the project rate (Hz) within Audacity to be 8000. This should slow it down and allow it to play regular.

I just did this a couple of weeks ago and it worked perfectly.

Method :

Step 1 : copy the MOH

Ftp client (fillezilla) :
Host : Mivb @ip
login
password
Remote site : /db/eMOH
Copy the Moh file (raw format) on your computer

Step 2

With audacity :
import the moh file raw format (screen1 attached)

Screen 2 : convert the raw file

A-LAW , default endianess, 1 channel mono , 8000hz

Step 3 : export the file in wav (screen3)

wav
u-Law
8.000 kHz, 8bit, mono, 7 kb/sec

Step 4 : import the MOH on the second controller.
