Has anyone had any with a Mitel 5000 and Valcom VIP-172 SIP door phone? 

We have had one for about 4 years now.  When it was originally installed we had an issue with 911 seemingly being dialed by the door phone.  We checked all the Valcom programing and the only extension or number it is set to dial is the receptionist. The Mitel tech we had at the time set the class of service to deny 911 specifically.  That seemed to work fine until recently.  The system is showing an 4 Emergency calls from the door phone.  When this happens the door phone is seemingly locked up.  Clearing the alarm has no effect, rebooting the door phone has no effect.  The only way to clear it is to reboot the 5000.

The Mitel tech is again saying that there is nothing set wrong and it has to be the device.  I called Valcom support.  Valcom support says its impossible for the device to dial anything other than what its told to do.

It is getting to be an almost daily occurrence and noone seems to want to take on responsibility.  For informational purposes, I am the IT Manager and have 25 years experience with both computers and telephone / PBX systems.  I am pretty familiar with MItel programing and VOIP, but SIP I don't have that much experience with.  I tend to agree with Valcom - I just dont see how it would be possible, it has no keypad so its not someone dialing it manually, the only extension it is set to dial is the receptionist.

The attached image is a screen shot of the Mitel log when it happens.  Any help is much appreciated.

Hmm... do those numbers represent anything correlating to anything programmed in the device, and does it continue of the device is physically disconnected from the network?

Honestly, because of the pattern and frequency of numbers showing up I have to wonder if you aren't being hacked from an outside source using the credentials of the doorbox. Perhaps it would be a good time to change the extension, and use a strong SIP password on the device.

I'd have to agree with Ace.  Looks like someone has hacked into your system and registered as the SIP device.
Check to see if you have any other SIP devices programmed other than the door box and check them for unusual calling patterns.  Also take a look to see how someone might have been able to get into your network.

Choth,

The issue is that you have been hacked. The VIP-172 has no way of holding that many different numbers so it is obvious as to what is going on here. What version of software is the phone system on? This will depend on how I explain on how to reprogram your system to stop this problem.

I would first start with no allowing the SIP Device access to outside lines and leave it unless you need it to dial out of the system.
