MXe 4.2 SP1
Sales sold (10) 5330e endpoints. Installation Guide says: "supported by MCD 5.0 & later". I am looking to confirm that these will not work at all on 4.2 software before returning/re-ordering endpoints.

Problem is that on the dropdown for device type, you most likely won't see 5330e, just 5330. I don't have this ver. to try it. Can someone else? Thanks.

They will work fine... There is a thread in the Introductions area about 3 pages in...
FYI to anyone interest in the details on this....
Mitel 5330e/5340e phones are supported as regular 5330/5340 phones with the following requirements.
Mitel 3300 MCD 4.0 SP1
Mitel 5000 Release 4.0
Mitel Border Gateway 6.0
In the above environments it will run in 10/100 mode only, Gigabit is not supported.
To be used as 5330e/5340e (Gigabit phones) the following minimum softwares are required:
Mitel 3300 MCD 5.0 SP2
Mitel 5000 Release 5.1
Mitel SX-200 ICP Release 5.0 UR2 (Sales Engineering was unsure if Gigabit would be supported or not)
Mitel Border Gateway 7.1
There is no support for the 53XXe phones in any release prior to those listed above as they are no longer supported software revisions by Mitel, and there will be no further development in firmware or software to make these phones work on non-supported software releases.
This is from Mitel Sales Engineering.

Note that in 10/100 mode on older systems (that meet the minimums) they will not pull matching firmware to the system and will use the Out of Box firmware. If the phones are used in a newer system, say an MCD 6.0 or Mitel 5000 6.0 system, and then you attempt to put them on an older system, they will NOT work anymore except on a system that completely supports them. Trust me on this, I learned the hard way.
In the drop down of the User phone type, you just select 5330.

Thx, Ace. I know I had a 5340 I couldn't get to work......."Phone Locked Out. Contact Administrator". It was set as a 5340e and when I changed to 5340, it worked. Thanks.
