Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Calls intermittent
« Last post by SamuelM on April 15, 2024, 03:31:41 PM »
I will preface this as I usually do that I am not a telecomms admin, so I am not well versed in Mitel or these systems, but with no telecomm admin here I am the person in charge of the system. We are having an issue with our Mitel system where we cannot make inbound or outbound calls. Internal calls work fine, external calls will work randomly, maybe for 5-10 minutes, then stop working for 30 minutes to and hour. We currently have no Mitel vendor as we had some disputes with them and ended our contract. We are looking into a new vendor but if there was anything that could be checked on our in that would be helpful. I did call Mitel and they checked some logs and according to them there was something about the PBX not answering the invites from the Gateway. Our network team has checked everything they know to. Would there be any additional steps to check the communication between the Mivoice Business PBX and the Gateway?

"Access Denied" is almost always a permissions problem, usually a Class of Restriction (COR) issue...

Typically Access Denied is a COR issue in my experience. The new trunks may not have the right COR to access them.

The system is saying it doesn't detect voltage on those port(s)... Your telco needs to come onsite and verify the lines are working.

Of course, I would suggest a reboot first... it doesn't often fix this issue, but it can't really hurt.

I would do a packet capture on the SIP trunk and see if the call is actually hitting the trunk at all.
It is is, reviewing the packets may give you a clue.
For example, it may be rejected because the Caller ID is not correct.

If you don't see the call at all in the SIP traces, then then it's going to be in one of the following:
COS, COR or Tenant.

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Access Denied for outbound calls over SIP

My Mitel tech made a change yesterday which broke all outbound calling over our ESI SIP trunk.  He was trying to get SIP calls going over our MBG virtual server, I believe.  Every phone gets "Access Denied."  He reverted the changes but nothing has worked.

He created a ticket with ESI but we've been down almost 48hrs.  Inbound works fine.  He's doing packet captures with no luck.

Any ideas what could be going on or what I should look into on our 3300?

FWIW, when you crete this, the sip password s an internal value. When adding teleworker, it creates this such that there is a different external name and a complex unknown password.

You can modify the sip teleworker external name and password so that it is the same. If so, I would make sure the internal is not simple.

You have to get into the MBG to make the changeses.

Apologies to start, as my technical expertise with these system is very limited. I was given some of these 5634 Handsets to configure. Internally, I was able to get them setup without issue. Where I am having a problem is setting them up an an external network. I am configuring it with an External Network for testing (Network A in PDM) and am able to get a connection. But on the handset I just get "No Access". Attaching some photos as to where I am so far.

Hi Ralph,

The TW phones get audio when calling a 5330e phone in the office but not when calling a 6930 phone in the office. This all started after the version upgrade in late January of this year. I haven't seen that the TW phones can get to some phones internally better than others based on their subnet, seems to be more specific to the model of phone.

From what I can see in the MBG server, there are networks specified that covers where our internal phone IP ranges are.
