Repeated re-booting of Mitel MX Controller
« on: June 28, 2017, 12:58:16 PM »
Dear All,
We have an old MX Controller that has been functional until recently when it started to re-booting repeatedly and fail to boot-up as expected after lightning effect that affected the Analogue On-Board card (AOB). We initially thought that the hard drive had crashed or corrupted in the process when the burnt card was removed. However, we were able to re-load or re-install the software (Rel ICP 9.0) and the manual software went on well and completed as expected. At the end of the software installation, the system (controller) rebooted as expected to load from the HDD but surprisingly, it failed to reboot well rather it continued to reboot repeatedly. The rebooting log was captured and attached here for your review. Kindly review the log and advise as necessary. There seems to be failure of the FPGA and hardware initialization as shown on the coloured  part of the logs (light green and purple).

Swap the whole base chassis... Probably safe to reuse any MMC modules, but get a new chassis and power supply, and move the SYSID chip. The mainboard is damaged, seen it numerous times.

Had similar with a T1/E1 card, removed it and it booted fine. Put a new one in and its still working some years later....we had to boot it without the card to get it to boot (wouldn't boot with the new card in till we did this for some strange reason; we didn't however reload the software at any stage).
