mitel 5000 5330's to finally get multi page screen?
« on: December 01, 2016, 02:52:17 PM »
I recall the 5320's getting multi page functionality on the 3000 series PBX...did this ever happen for the 5000?

UncleJemima,

The 5000 does not have that built-in functionality in the phone like the 3300 does. What the 5000 does have however is an Alternate Keymap which will change what all the keys do when you perform a switch keymap feature code.

Thanks,

TE

That was a quick reply!  Thanks!

My understanding is the 5320's on the 3300 did not have multi page functionality until recently...there was rumors/promises from my mitel rep that we would one day see this on the 5000 as well.  I understand the alternate keymap thing...(feature code #399 right?) but multi pages would be nice, especially since the 5320 users always are asking me why there is a page nav buttons at the bottom of the phone if they don't do anything.  My answer is "because Mitel"

That and I wish we would get a hang up/cancel button like the 3300's get.

Have you seen any feature improvements in the 5000 in recent years that might be worth noting?  Seems mitel does not advertise these things very well.

Damn.  Just had a great idea!  Thought I could program the bottom nav buttons to do feature code #399 to toggle alt. keymap...this would basically act like a page switch.  To bad the bottom nav/page buttons are not programmable :(

I've been waiting for this as well. I have logged a DCR so hopefully it will eventually happen.
The other thing to remember is that the top 3 keys don't have LED's on the 5320.  :(

We currently use the alternate keymaps feature but the customers still get confused with it, and it still doesn't feel as natural.

Guys,

Whenever we use the Alternate Keymap it is the (x) Special Key since that is rarely used in any of our installations.

As for improvements it depends on when you started working on them and how much you know about the 5000. There have been a lot of improvements to the 5000 since Mitel bought out Inter-Tel, but some of the features they were working on were never implemented.

Thanks,

TE

I label the Alternate Keymap feature as Next Page and put the button on a non-lighted key. Users have no problem pressing the Next Page key for more buttons, and there's no light to confuse them.
