Hot Desk Voicemail Issue when Logged out
« on: June 24, 2016, 10:00:18 AM »
HI,

We have a problem where when a hot desk user is logged out and there hot desk number is dialled, voicemail kicks in after say 8 rings, I can't for the life of me get it to go to voicemail straight away, the only way i can do this is i DND then log out of hot desk.

Is there anyway of getting the hot desk extension when logged out to go straight to voicemail without the use of DND?

System forwarding is all set correctly.

Is someone calling their extension or being transferred to it? If transferred, I like to put a voicemail button on the phones of the people who transfer the most. That way if they want a persons voicemail all you do is hit the voicemail button, it'll ask for the extension, then just hang up and it'll transfer it directly to their voicemail.

Both, so the hot desk users extension is being dialled, it acts as if the phone is still logged in, so when a call is made from the callers end you hear ringing, but in fact its not ringing anywhere.

Ryskie,

Logging into and out of Hotdesk is not like logging into and out of an ACD Hunt Group. The Hotdesk user is basically a phantom extension that works just like a phone without a physical keyset attached to it.

If there is some sort of system forwarding going on then it must meet those conditions before being diverted to voicemail. The only way that you can get it to go there immediately is if you have a condition for it to go there.

Sorry,

TE

Missing something from the story.

First make sure there is no mistake of the HD User state and features
Maintenance command:
- state extension <DN>, should be out of service when logged off
- locate features extension <DN>, shell be no active forward features if using reroute
Either call forwarding or rerouting must have the Busy option in it, since the HD user is considered busy when out of service.
- use reroute first alternative reroute Busy/No Answer options or setup Call Forward on Busy
