I'm finally releasing this.

We've always been told this couldn't be done but I've found that one of the features of the 3300 can allow us to do it.

So here's the doc.
How to stop specific callers from being able to dial in.
You can download the PDF here

Please use this forum for comments and to ask question.   I cannot answer PM questions.

Some notes:
1) It's complex.  If  you're not an experienced tech then you may want to enlist the help of more senior individuals.
2) Don't try to program it during busy hours.  If you make a mistake it will cause all calls to fail.  Do it during a slow time to give you time to test & debug.
3) This only works for SIP trunks and Euro ISDN.
4) This may cause Anonymous calls to fail.   So far I haven't found a way around this.   Please let me know if you do.

Bravo Ralph! This will change the world as we know it. What about processing load though? Have you found that this affects cp performance at all?

Processing load has not been checked.
In my lab I do not have a way of checking under load so if you do please let us know what you see.

*** UPDATE May-1-15  ****

Mitel reviewed the doc.
Here's the comments they sent me:

----  <SNIP> --------
Hi Ralph, looks pretty good. Note step 3 references IP/XNET Trunk Group 10, not 1.
On the performance side, remember that this *triples* traffic for this particular type of call.

If all calls are to be looped back, you will have
i) the original inbound call
ii) the outbound loopback call
iii) the inbound loopback call.
There will also be increased use of call processing for ARS to insert and remove digits.
You will need to be cautious in its use on a busy site. The Engineering tool may be useful to indicate a higher traffic level when designing the system.
All told, great idea!

Just a question from someone still quite new to Mitel, this can be done in 2min on an Asterisk based system. Why is it so difficult for Mitel to implement something like this? Well done on figuring out a method though  :)

Dang good question.
We've all been asking for this for something like forever.
It would also seem to me that the Mitel DEV team could solve this easily.
All they'd have to do now is implement source based routing.
If they took their existing Inward Dialing Modification and allowed us to map destination based off of that then it could be easily done.

Thanks for this ralph.  So why won't this work on T1s?

Because it relies on modifying the CLID via the Calling Party Inward Dialing Modification form.
That doesn't work on PRIs.  (I don't remember but it might work on Euro ISDN)

There is always this as an option, if cost is not a concern.

http://www.securelogix.com/

Just for grins, about 30% of our calls over a 90 day period are blocked as they are harrasing or phishing calls. We have also been able to stop TDOS attacks on our PBX using this product. It is essentially a Tbird sitting between the Telco and the PBX, analyzes and processes calls based on rules before they hit the PBX. If anyone has any questions about it or would like to see it in action, let me know. We currently have these installed at 4 of our locations.

Unfortunately I no longer have the doc.
I had it dropbox.  They made a change and I lost everything that was on it that I didn't have anywhere else.

If someone else has it, please upload it.

Apparently there is going to be a blacklist option in MiVB 9.
For those that have access to MUG.
