400 vs. 3000
« on: February 19, 2019, 02:29:58 PM »
What is the difference between the MiVoice 470 and the Mitel 3000, specifically regarding the hospitality features? Is it a case of the 400 replacing the 3000  like the 250 replaced the 5000?

bvtech,

The MiVO-400 is an Aastra product and the Mitel 3000 was an Inter-Tel product that have nothing in common. The 3000 doesn't have any hospitality features associated with it. The Mitel 3300 on the other hand does have hospitality built into it because that is a homegrown Mitel product.

Also, the MiVO-250 didn't replace the new MiVoice 5000. The MiVO-25 used to be an Inter-Tel product called the CP-5000 or the HX-5000 depending on the hardware platform it was on. When Mitel bought out Aastra they also had a 5000 model so Mitel renamed the HX-5000 to the MiVO-250 and the Aastra product is now the MiVoice 5000 product.

Hopefully that clears up the confusion. I have to go take an Excedrin Migraine now.

Thank,

Steven

Ok, so we are looking at getting into the hospitality market.  Which is the premier hospitality product for Mitel the 3300, or the 400?  I can't find any training information about the 3300 on the Mitel website, but I can find the 400.

bvtech,

The hospitality market is where Mitel shines as that is where they built themselves up. The 3300 is their flagship product so I would have to say the 3300 is their premier product for hospitality.

Unfortunately I know nothing of the Aastra line of products as it is mostly sold outside of the US so we don't work on it.

Thanks,

TE

I can say that in Australia the MiVO 400 is our hospitality product. They seem to be putting some R&D into it as well.

I think the 400 scales better with high density analogue extensions. i.e. they have 32 ports FXS cards.

I believe it will price better as well.

The "3300" is what techs who have been working on the platform a long time call it, technically 3300 only refers to a piece of hardware now (3300 MXeIII for example), the platform is called "MiVoice Business".
