Programming Polycom SIP Phone to Mitel MiVoice
« on: December 05, 2017, 11:48:54 AM »
Was hoping someone could help us with step by step direction on programming a Polycom SIP phone to work with our MiVoice system.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Craig

If you have access to Mitel online, there are documents on how to achieve this but they are not really "step by step" they are more for technicians with a basic understanding of the 5000 and SIP.

Otherwise, what part are you struggling with? The Polycom SIP devices are probably one of the more simple ones to provisions... Make sure you have an available Category F license, add a new SIP endpoint, go into the Polycom phone and set the sip server address to the 5000's address and the sip credentials to the same as the extension number... that is a really basic overview.

Still struggling on this unfortunately.  Can't find where to "set the sip server address to the 5000's address" in the phone?

Web to the phone and log in, then go to Simple Settings and in SIP Server, set the address to the IP address of the 5000, the port to 5060, skip to SIP Line Identification and in Display Name put whatever you want, address and user ID is the extension number, and the password is either the extension or the password you set in the SIP Peer Profile for the phone... Label would be the extension as well. Save and reboot.

If you tell me what model Polycom, I can probably give you a more exact answer and maybe a config document.

There is no Interop for that device, but it is pretty generic... Basically if the phone is factory defaulted, all you need is the what I stated, and time server (NTP) settings would be nice to have the clock show the correct time though. If you want to do it the "long" way, all setup is in Settings - Lines - Line 1
